QUESTIONS ABOUT THE POLITICAL FEAR CAMPAIGN
PURSUED BY BUSH AND CHENEY


The Bush/Cheney people are running a re-election campaign mainly focused on fear. They create and promote fear in their speeches and advertising. How many times have they told us they had credible evidence from different independent sources and had intercepted emails threatening an imminent terrorist attack? How many times have Bush and Cheney also told us, “Elect us and you will be safe, elect Kerry and you will not!’ What did they know that we didn’t?? What do they know now that we don’t?

For over 3 years we have been going back and forth from Yellow to Orange to Yellow, etc. Wouldn’t you think that in the last three years since 9/11 if one or more fanatic terrorists or suicide bombers wanted to blow up a bus, a train, a restaurant, a shopping mall, a sporting event or anything else, they could have easily done so? Just who is behind the unrevealed “credible evidence” and intercepted emails that are used to raise and lower the level of fear in this country. Whoever is playing this mind game with us must think that the “bark is worse than the bite.” Who benefits from the perpetuation of a permanent state of fear in the minds of the American public?

The World Trade Center attack was planned for years, carried out mostly by Saudi terrorists, and financed by Saudi money. After this huge success experienced by the Saudi terrorists, why did they stop? During this same period we have seen many terrorist attacks successfully executed in countries all over the world. These have taken place in countries that do not have the largeborders we have where millions of illegal immigrants enter every year. These have taken place in countries where free movement and free expression does not compare with the United States. These have taken place in countries with much more regimented and militarist societies. Why not here??

Do you think as Bush has maintained, it is because we invaded Iraq and we are fighting the terrorists and suicide bombers there, and as a result we are not fighting them here? Many suicide bombers acting alone have blown up buses, bus stations, shopping streets, and restaurants in Israel. It only takes one terrorist. Do you think it is due to the success we have had resulting from the improvements in our intelligence agencies that served us so well prior to 9/11? Do you think it is due to the successful efforts of our Homeland Security Dept. in protecting our ports and containers, our chemical plants, our nuclear facilities, our transportation facilities, and our water supplies, etc.?

We have had 2 attacks in recent years in the United States beside the one on 9/11/01. One was carried out by a single individual Timothy McVey, who did it all by himself with the help of a friend. McVey, a former army serviceman used a rented truck, loaded it with ordinary fertilizer and chemicals he purchased at a local supply center, and then blew up an entire office building in Oklahoma City where hundreds were killed. The second bombing was carried out in New York over 10 years ago by a small group of Islamic fundamentalist fanatics who loaded a truck with explosives, parked it in the under ground parking garage of the World Trade Center and left it there to explode causing a large loss of life, injuries, and damage.

WHY NOT HERE???

I’ve been trying come up with an answer that makes sense, but haven’t been able to.
